The Hoodie Story

You will need:

• The Hoodie Story
• Scissors

How to play:

• Cut “The Hoodie Story” into 30 strips. Mix the strips up and give them out to the girls.
• The girl with the star on her paper starts. 
• Girls must listen and pay attention to figure out when it’s their turn to read the story.
• Encourage girls to read with emotion and animation in their voices.
• After the story is finished, lead the discussion. 

Discussion:

• What do you think of the ending? Did it surprise you?
• It wasn’t very fair that Shana never got to enjoy her skirt. Has something unfair happened to you before? How did you react? Would it have been fair for Elana to return the skirt to Shana?
• How might Shana react if she was only thinking about herself?
• What thoughts would Shana have if she only considered doing the right thing?
• What would you do in this situation?
